Our Shows

At Keepsake House, we talk a lot about the magic in live shows and the communities they help create, almost like every performance is itself a keepsake that you cherish from a whole house of life experiences.

Find out more about the types of shows we produce below, or attend an upcoming show here.

Residency Roundtables

  • Songwriters and storytellers from our Artists in Residence program and other established artists share the stage and take turns performing “in the round.”

  • Every roundtable show is produced with a different theme, from Linguistics (artists all sing in different languages) to Found Family (for Pride month).

  • Roundtables showcase our artists’ talent in beautiful, seated listening rooms like The Bitter End that are often accompanied by food and drinks.

These shows are also filmed and air on Youtube or a venue’s livestream site, where they can be viewed live and recorded.

Partnerships

  • We also produce shows with community partners and have worked with non-profit organizations like Asian American International Film Festival, music blog Twangville, and Meadowlark Festival.

  • Our community shows often benefit projects that align with our values, and we have already raised over $7,000 for Asian Pacific American organizations that provide mental health resources to the community as well LGTBQ+ organizations like Transanta.

  • We bring a vast artist network, detailed and thoughtful curatorial eyes, and years of event management experience to our partnerships. What we look for in partners are opportunities for us and our artists to reach new audiences.

Open Mics

  • Open Mics are free and open to all performers, regardless of genre or level of experience. Anyone with a story to tell is welcome.

  • Open Mics are positive places where artists should feel comfortable. We introduce each artist and spread encouragement throughout.

Artists who are already part of the Keepsake House community and have shown promising speaking skills may have the opportunity to facilitate Open Mics.

  • Artists are given up to 10 minutes of performance time and are encouraged to experiment with their work and jam with each other.

  • “Brilliant and powerful.”

–Audience member, From Story to Song (January 2023)

  • “I feel like I got to see a comedy show, spoken word performance, and bangin' concert all in one night.”

–Audience member, From Story to Song (January 2023)

  • “Not only did the forum introduce me to talented artists, but the event taught me about myself.”

    –Audience member, Linguistics (2022)
